Richard Putnam was born and raised in Houston, Texas for the first years of his life, when he then moved to Nashville, Tennessee. There, he attended the all male preparatory academy, called Montgomery Bell Academy. After graduating, he went on to study finance at Southern Methodist University. At Southern Methodist University, he was elected as Grand Scribe for his fraternity, Kappa Sigma. Richard also has a love for the outdoors, which is evident through many of his outdoor adventures, including backpacking on the Appalachian Trail, the Rocky Mountains and in the Alaskan Arctic Circle. Richard is actively involved in a variety of volunteer work, including work with the Alzheimer’s Association and Humane Society. Richard began to have in interest in the real estate market after seeing many of his college friends have a tough time finding off-campus housing.
